Class Song

I was on Victoria Zasztal's weblog and her comments on "Making Your Mark" really intrigued me. We all have a story to tell and mine is not pretty. The important thing is that through adversity, I made a descion to be somebody and to make a difference in the world. I had a teacher tell me that I would never amount to anything and I remember thinking, "That's what you think! I'll show you!" and I did. I graduated college summa cum laude and I am now National Board Certified. This year, I began working on my Master's Degree in Educational Leadership. These are a few of my accomplishments and I am so fortunate that along the way I did have people who believed in me.

I have decided to use the "I Was Here" by Lady Antebellum as our class song. I am always looking for ways to bond the students in the classroom into a cohesive community. I tell all of my students that they are unique and wonderfully made individuals and that each of them has a contribution to make to the world. I also tell them that without them the world would be a different place.  Our class creed supports the words in this song.
